Our Geological Services
Accessing the wealth of historical information
Accessing the wealth of historical information stored within state archives of the Russian Federation is often a critical step in identifying good projects. Our team has a demonstrated ability to quickly identify the relevant reports and data and transform them into a powerful exploration tool for use in GIS and 3D format.
Key members of our team have a proven ability to identify and add high quality assets to a company’s portfolio. Tom Bowens, the founder, and CEO of Kolymageo was responsible for the discovery of two significant ore deposits in the Russian Far East, one of which is currently being mined and the other in development. For these efforts, Tom and other members of the Kolymageo team were awarded discovery medals, a first for foreign geologists in the Russian Federation. Whether you are a company already exploring in Russia and looking to build your project base, or investors looking to enter the Russian market, we can help you identify and acquire high quality projects, no matter the commodity.
Kolymageo have considerable experience in planning, implementing, and supporting large reconnaissance exploration programs.
The rugged and challenging Russian Far East demands that exploration teams are well organized and supported in order to achieve success and do so safely. Kolymageo have considerable experience in planning, implementing, and supporting large reconnaissance exploration programs. On behalf of a client JV, our team organized and implemented a multi-helicopter supported reconnaissance program for the client, covering over 200,000km2, assessing more than one hundred high and low sulphidation epithermal targets as well as a host of porphyry and skarn targets. If you are considering a reconnaissance-type program, please contact us and we will guide your team through to success.
Our team are fully equipped to conduct Ground Magnetics Surveys and coordinate Drone Magnetic surveys in rugged and heavily forested terrane. We coordinate with western trained geophysicists affiliated with Kolymageo. In addition, we can provide Induced Polarization Surveys and data processing.
Whether by Russian or Western (Anaconda) methodology, high quality mapping is a critical first step.
The team at Kolymageo recognize that a good geological map is one of the most important basic templates for a successful exploration program. A good map will allow your team to better plan geochemical surveys and interpret geophysical datasets. With this in mind, high quality geological mapping is the critical first step and we at Kolymageo can provide either Russian or Western (Anaconda/Fact Map) methods to help you take that first step with confidence.
Sampling Programs – Design and Acquisition
The correct design and implementation of any sampling program is critical for the generation of quality data.
For any sampling program, whether it is regional targeting stream sediment program or resource definition drill core sampling, correct sampling design and implementation is critical for the generation of quality data. When it comes to geochemical sampling, the team at Kolymageo has extensive international experience, exploring in a wide range of geological terrains and regolith environments all of which provide challenges for any geochemical sampling program, be it soil, stream sediment or whatever sample media that works.
Having been involved in several resource drill out programs in the Russian Federation, our team is familiar with both western style and Russian resource reporting requirements. We can guide your drilling and sampling protocols, data flow, QAQC and the most effective use of your data. In addition, we are able to provide equipment, facilities and staff for drill and trench sample crushing and preparation, as well as negotiation with reputable laboratories on the bets methodology for your project. We look forward to using that experience to guide your next sampling program to success.
*Regolith = the layer of loose material covering the bedrock of the earth, comprising soil, sand, weathered rock, rock fragments, volcanic ash, glacial drift, etc.
Our geologists have solid experience in logging core and trench samples from a range of deposit types.
From massive porphyry copper-gold deposits such as Malmyzh, to high sulphidation epithermal gold deposits such as Svetloye, as well as Orogenic gold, Reduced Intrusion Related Gold (RIRG) and Epithermal quartz-adularia vein hosted gold… our team have seen it all, logged it all and sampled it all. All these styles present their own challenges for the inexperienced geologist. Allow us to optimize your program with the best possible geological logging.
On-site spectral mineral analyses (Terra-Spec)
Kolymageo has been successfully using Terraspec instruments and data for several years to provide exploration vectors for in-house projects. Let us provide a similar service for your projects and fast track exploration success.
Although the use of spectral mineral analyses in mineral exploration and mineral processing has grown enormously in the last few years, recognition and use of this tool has been slow to take off in the Russian Federation. This is in part due to a tendency to see it as a ‘point and shoot’ tool with immediate results, similar to XRF technology. Correctly collected and processed spectral data provides powerful vectors to a wide variety of mineral deposits. From deposits in the epithermal – porphyry spectrum, to orogenic gold and even kimberlite diamond deposits, spectral data can alert the explorer to the subtle alteration haloes of blind systems that would otherwise remain undetected.
In order to extract maximum value from spectral data, care must be taken to use appropriate software with a skilled technician. Kolymageo has been successfully using Terraspec instruments and data for several years to provide exploration vectors for in-house projects. Let us provide a similar service for your projects and fast track exploration success.
On-site XRF element analyses (Niton)
We can provide pXRF instruments as part of an assistance package on your next exploration program and provide guidance on better workflow.
The practice of pXRF instruments such as Niton to collect multi-element data in the field has been around for many years. Although the accuracy and reliability of these instruments has improved enormously over time, the workflows associated with them and the ensuing data have not. Over time, our geoscientists have developed efficient workflows to integrate this data with other datasets into your exploration program. We can provide pXRF instruments as part of an assistance package on your next exploration program and provide guidance on better workflow.
